Michael Swan is a writer specializing in English language teaching and reference materials. His publications include Practical English Usage and Basic English Usage (OUP). He is also co-author, with Catherine Walter, of the Cambridge English Course series, and of How English Works and The Good Grammar Book (OUP). It features basic descriptions of English grammar and various words which for some reasons are difficult to use by non-native speakers. It has been published by Oxford University Press. It has been sold in over 1.5 million copies.
